Bleeding Heart

Bleeding Heart is flowering in the garden - such beautiful flowers :)

Apparently the flower is a symbol of everlasting love

  1. They are such pretty flowers but I'm upset cos mine has disappeared! Well I guess that means it has died. :-( I moved it from its original place some years back and it seemed happy at first, but didn't amount to much last year, and this year nothing at all! Oh well guess you can't win em all! Love your wildlife pond in the previous post. :-)

    1. Thanks so much for the comment. Yes, they are so lovely - I think you can get a white one too. I am so sorry that your's has disappeared. Mine have never done that well. I had 3 (one never came up after initial planting. The one in photo in border improves slightly each year but the other one that was in a pot hasn't come up at all this year and that had been the one that was the best. Have you thought of getting another? They aren't cheap though - I got 3 for around £10 in a newspaper offer but that was some years ago and they seem a lot more expensive these days.

    2. Most plants do well in my garden but the few that don't like it I don't think it's worth bothering with again as it's possible the same thing will happen! :-)

    3. It is a shame when plants you like don't like the garden - had a few here . I persevere for a while and buy again but in the end you have to give up. Strangely, colombine never do well in the back garden but thrive in the front!

  2. A beautiful flower RR and one which we have never grown here before. Its shape kind of reminds me of 'Sacred Heart' images.

    1. Thanks David - yes, you are right about "Sacred Heart" images. I first spotted the plant at Castle Bromwich Hall Gardens where it is grown en masse - a far more impressive sight than one lone plant!
