Will try running the trap again this weekend - looks as though it may be a little milder!

  3. Bit milder to night so the light has just gone out, there is a chance of snow later, nothing so far.It's just as important to record no moths as it is loads. It's good data to keep.

    1. Good Luck Amanda - hope you strike lucky although as you say no moths is just as important a record. I brought mine in as torrential rain forecast :( Please let me know if you get anything.

  4. A shame but there will be plenty more opportunities later on! We've a dry spell coming up with sunny days though frosty nights forecast. I'm planning to put mine out on the off chance that a hardy moth might be flying around! There really is little opportunity during winter with so much rain.

    1. Thanks Mandy. Yes it is very early in the year yet! I do sometimes put the trap out on milder winter nights but as you say with all the rain it wasn't worth the bother. Good Luck if you put yours out - people on Twitter are mentioning catching moths so there are some about! Will try again too this weekend although it doesn't look as though it will be as mild as they originally forecast :(
